Mary K Boyte
Attorney at Law
Mary K. Boyte Henderson is the longest practicing family law attorney in Yuma. Mary brings
her years of experience, perspective, hard work and attention to detail to her work on behalf of
Arizona families. Mary’s litigation experience in complex criminal, civil and family law matters
makes her uniquely qualified to advocate for parties and children attempting to navigate the
family law system. At both the trial level and on appeal, Mary helps clients achieve the best
results possible.
Mary attended Whittier Law School in Los Angeles where she served as executive editor of the
Whittier Law Review and graduated cum laude in 1993. Mary was licensed to practice in
Arizona in 1993 and in Colorado in 1995. She has made Yuma her home and has maintained a
private law practice in Yuma, Arizona since December of 1993.
Early in her career, Mary focused in the area major criminal appellate/post-conviction defense,
including death penalty work. In 1995, however, she changed her focus to family law. Mary’s
practice has concentrated virtually exclusively in family law ever since. Mary’s quarter century
of family law practice has provided her with extensive experience in complex divorce, custody,
severance, and appeals matters.
Mary has devoted extensive time to the improvement of the family law system in Arizona. Mary
is a member of the Arizona Supreme Court Family Law Rules Task Force on the 2018 update
and restyling of the Arizona Rules of Family Law Procedure. Mary has recently returned to the
State Bar Family Law Section Executive Council, where she previously served for more than 18
years, including one year as chair of the council. During that time, the council worked to provide
judicial and attorney education, developed materials and provided assistance to unrepresented
people, and worked to suggest and improve legislation and rules effecting Arizona families.
Mary has also served on the State Bar Family Law Practice and Procedure Committee and the
Arizona Child Support Committee. Mary remains a member of the Yuma County Local Rules
Committee, Western Arizona Women Lawyers Association and the Arizona Chapter of the
Association of Family and Conciliation Courts.
